latino book and Family Festival
We enjoyed attending the Latino Book and Family Festival at Sacramento City College.
Community leaders, educators, librarians, and award-winning authors are partnering to celebrate Sacramento’s first Latino Book and Family Festival.
Seventy-one Latino Book and Family Festivals have been held in the U.S., but never in Sacramento until now. San Diego, Los Angeles, and Chicago have been among the past hosts since 1997.
Dozens of authors will hold workshops, including “How to Get Published.” Some will sell and, in some cases, give their books to families and children. There will also be book and poetry readings.
The First festival was celebrated in 1997, and 70 Festivals have been held since then in eight markets around the USA. Festivals have been held in: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, San Bernardino, and San Diego. Combined attendance is estimated to 900,000+ since its beginnings. Over the last two decades, 4,000+ companies have participated in these Festivals from the automotive, communications, educational, energy, entertainment, financial services, food, governmental, insurance, library, media, nonprofit, publishing, retail, travel & transportation, and union sectors. *https://lbff.us/
If you're in the area, pencil this event into your calendar. It was wonderful to see the many authors from all over the region.
